Adidas Sambas have been one of the most popular sneakers of 2023, if not the most popular.

I bought my first Adidas Sambas in the beginning of 2023, and I love these kicks.

If you are willing to buy sambas for the first time, you probably wonder whether they are worth the price, if they are comfortable, and so on.

Today I will share with you 3 things I believe you need to know before you get yourself a pair of Adidas Sambas based on my own experience.

Let’s dive in.

Adidas Sambas: are they comfortable?

Because of the retail price of $100, you may think they lack comfort. But none of this is true.

The Sambas are actually quite comfortable, which I didn’t expect at first.

If you already own a pair of Sambas and find them too tight, here’s what you can do to up your comfort level. Some people go a size up to get a bit more room for their toes.

But how much should you go up?

Well, I’d recommend going half a size up from your usual size. This should give your feet enough space without sacrificing style.

Compared to other shoes out there, the Adidas Samba falls somewhere in the middle.

It’s not as soft as Yeezy’s or as firm as your New Balances, but it strikes a good balance for everyday wear.

In the end, it’s all about getting what you pay for with these kicks. They’re reliable, everyday sneakers.

Even though they might not be the best for long walks, they are fine for everyday wear.

So, if you’re okay with sizing up a little bit or if you’ve got average-width feet, the Adidas Samba will work for you.

The Adidas Samba trend: how long will it last?

Adidas Sambas are without a doubt one of the sneakers of 2023.

But what about 2024? Will it be as trendy this year as the year before?

Who knows? Only time will tell.

The thing with trends is: that people follow them. So a lot of people wore the Sambas just to not miss out on the trend.

Of course, people wear these much before this trend, as the sambas history goes way back in time.

If you’re thinking about getting the Adidas Samba, I recommend you forget the trend and just buy them if you like them. Simple as that.

If you just buy out of FOMO the higher the odds you will always be walking behind and will end up using shoes only for a short time.

Instead, try to think: how this footwear add to my personal style and growth?

Right now, you might hear a bunch of people saying that the Adidas Samba is getting old, it’s everywhere, and that’s just how fashion goes, you know? Things come and go.

Because in fashion, things change, trends change, and people switch brands every year if not every season.

Adidas Samba 2024 prediction

Adidas Sambas 2024 prediction

I think as a trend, we will foresee new sneakers ruling the sneaker scene this year, taking over the throne sambas are currently sitting on; especially when summer starts.

We’ve already seen the rise in popularity of the Adidas Campus 00 and the Adidas Gazelle.

Nonetheless, even if the Adidas Samba isn’t the hottest sneaker ever, I still believe it’s an Adidas timeless sneaker.

Iconic footwear doesn’t disappear just because it’s not trendy at the moment.

So don’t get sloppy with them and make sure to take care of them properly so you can use them and wear them for many years.

How do you choose the perfect pair of Adidas Sambas?

Since each of the Sambas is slightly different, you want to make sure that you get the right pair for yourself if you’re looking to buy a pair.

Let me help you out here since there a so many models, range of materials and variants available.

It’s crucial to avoid picking the wrong pair that doesn’t suit your needs.

My favorite Adidas Sambas is, without a doubt, the Adidas Samba Decon in white – which retails for around $150.

The Adidas Samba Decon is pretty much the chill cousin of the classic Samba sneakers.

It’s got this cool, minimalist look with a few upgrades like heels you can squish down, fancy leather inside, and a lighter gum sole that keeps things fresh.

Plus, the suede on the toe adds a nice touch, making it perfect for anyone who wants to keep it stylish without trying too hard.

These are a bit more expensive than the Adidas Samba OG’s though.

Let’s take a look at the Samba OG’s in white here below.

The Adidas Samba OG sticks to its roots with a classic, no-nonsense soccer sneaker vibe. It retails for $100 which is cheaper than the Decon model.

How to style the Adidas Samba’s?

To style the Adidas Sambas I recommend you to go for a not-too-bulky look.

Rocking them with slim-fit or just-right oversized trousers works great because it keeps the shoe visible and part of your look.

Go too baggy with your pants, and your Sambas might get lost under the fabric, giving off a super oversized vibe.

Let me explain this: The Adidas Sambas are not very wide, rather flat and narrow shoes.

So, when wearing too baggy jeans, the shoe becomes less and less noticeable, and it looks like the shoe drowns in your trousers.

If you wear slim-fit trousers/jeans or slightly oversized trousers/jeans, it is okay. But if you go too wide it can create the effect that you dress oversized – which is not bad: it all depends on your style preferences of course.

I personally like to wear them with oversized jeans or trousers as you can see above. Always try to match with the right colours. The brown ones are really easy to match, as well as the white ones.

Adidas Samba collaborations

And for the record, if you want to know, here are some of my favorite Adidas Samba collaborations.

We have the sporty and rich collaborations such as the Wales Bonner Sambas, the Ajax Bob Marley collaboration.

My favorite collab is the Adidas Samba x Spezial Deco collab, clean Sambas in brown. I think these are a really, really beautiful pair of Adidas Sambas.

And if you’re not really into collabs, then I just would recommend getting AGR pair of Adidas Sambas.

I mean, I think you’re going to get the looks, you’re going to get the stylistic appeal, you’re going to get the stylistic longevity, you’re going to get relatively good comfort and you’re going to have to payless.

So, which sambas do you have or which ones do you plan to buy?

And how long do you think that this trend will last? Another four, six or eight months? Or years?
